Art Identity Humanity

To inspire a new understanding of what it means to be human, my art practice – digital art and performance – explores the complexity of identity, history, culture, and how other external forces influence who we believe we are collectively and as individuals. What would happen if we prioritized humanity rather than identity? My work invites new conversations about creating a language of human connection. Buddhist philosophy influences my practice.

I think of myself as an artist who writes, primarily about art, identity, and culture.

I attended the Santa Monica College of Design, Art, and Architecture, founded by MacArthur Fellow, Joan Abrahamson. My work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, CA, Portland, OR., and Seattle, WA.

Workshops

In an intimate group setting, participants are invited to explore what identity and humanity means to them. Compelling works of art are used as dialogue prompts. I’ve facilitated identity group dialogues in venues such as the New School, New York City and the Portland Art Museum.

Consulting/Coaching

Humanity First is a highly individualized intensive that helps leaders and decision makers reassess identity from the perspective of our complex humanity. I have worked with decision makers from Google, the Portland Art Museum and with leaders from philanthropic organizations.
