Art and Race Matters:
The Career of Robert Colescott

Knowledge of the Past is the Key to the Future, Upside Down Jesus, and the Politics of Survival 1987

My video commentary on taboo whisperer, artist Robert Colescott, was part of the online exhibition, Art and Race Matters: The Career of Robert Colescott, at the Portland Art Museum. I also facilitated a virtual group dialogue on race, gender, and identity in Colescott’s work.

In Dialogue is an occasional series of interdisciplinary, discussion-based sessions featuring a range of artists, thinkers, and scholars who share their own perspectives on art in the context of today.
